I heard from Donna just a little bit ago. UTMB medical personnel are being relieved by a military medical unit. Donna has also been in contact with Adriana.
I understand from the two of them that there are a number of residents who are in hotels and need to be relocated. I'm not having much luck reaching people by cell phone, so please post a comment here and let me know if you are in housing where you can remain for potentially 2 to 4 weeks or if you need to be relocated. Linda and I will be working to make arrangements starting tomorrow.
Everyone try to be patient. Hang in there and call either Linda or me if you don't hear from us in the next 48 hours. Meantime, leave a comment here and let me know your housing status/needs.

Hello everybody.
I hope all of you are in a safe place now. Me and my wife are still in San Francisco (we were here for the Frontline Diabetes when Ike hit the island).
Our United flights were cancelled b/c IAH was closed, and we could not go back to Texas yet. We're trying to get back to Houston as soon as we can. Anwar and his family managed to reach Austin with Southwest and are safe and sound at his cousin's house. We heard from our leasing office agent that parts of our condo were seriously damaged (with walls blown away) but they could not inform on the upper portion (where we live). If our apartment is in a good state, we are happy to help. We live at Village by the Sea.
If anyone hears anything else about entry to the island to check our houses, please let us all know. Thanks.
i'm staying at a friend's house in Richmond and we just got electricity and internet today. Bhanu says my house was underwater. I still don't know the extent of the damage. I would like to assess everything the soonest time possible and start working on repairs and towards normalcy but the island is still closed.
I have been in touch with a couple of residents and i'm glad to know that they are safe.
It's a tough time for all of us. But with the resilience of the human spirit, we will overcome this. God bless us all.

I am in Dallas with Miguel and David at friend's homes.
I got some pictures of my neighbors and theri house got flooded so that means I probably got like 5 feet of water in my house but not sure until we get back in the island.
Good thing is everyone I have heard from so far is well.
